Look Whooo's ONE!

Has it really already been (over) a year?!  I still can't believe our sweet P is a year old.  We went to Mississippi to celebrate Peyton's first year.  We wanted her to have a big first birthday blowout just like her big sister did and we wanted to make sure that all of our family and closest friends could be there.  I started planning her party when she was about six months old and it was everything that I wanted it to be!  I decided right away that I wanted to do an owl theme.  Her nursery is done in owls and I just think they're adorable and haven't gotten tired of them at all.  It was perfect and exactly how I had it pictured in my head.  Not one thing about it could have been better.

The cake matched the napkins perfectly!  Taylor always does the best job!  She comes highly recommended!  :)
I saw this idea on Pinterest and LOVED it.  A photo timeline banner.  A picture of P as a newborn, then one from each month and then it ends with one of her on her first birthday!  It was probably my favorite part of decor at her party!

Adorable cookies by Delene Carter.  I love that she added a bow on the little owls' heads!  :)

The sweets table was a big hit.  Marshmallow pops, rice crispy treat pops, chocolate dipped pretzels, cake, cookies, and candy!
Of course I forgot to take a picture once all the food was out, but we had hot dogs with all the fixings, along with baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and since there was no room on the sweets table for the fruit and fruit dip, we sat it on the end of the "real food" table.  :)

I loved her name on the table.  I got cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby and mod-podged scrapbook paper on them.  Those letters have found a permanent home in her room.  :)

Mr. Jim and Ms. Wendy always remember our big girl.  They have loved our girls like their own grandchildren since they were born.  They got her this cape and mask and she LOVES it.  When she puts it on we call her "Super Mac!"  :)
I love the way Peyton is looking at Mackenzie in this one.
I also love that Josh had to have a turn wearing the cape and mask!  :)

After everyone ate and Peyton opened her presents, it was time for cake!  Our little eater was NOT concerned about singing or candles, she just wanted to dig in!  And dig in she did!  :)  She started getting into it before the candle was ever blown out!

I told my mom after it was all over that it just couldn't have been any better.  I was SO happy with how it turned out and I am so thankful that we were able to celebrate our sweet P's first year with the people who love us the most.

At one year old, Peyton weighs 15 pounds (yes, she's tiny).  She is wearing 6 month clothes, a size 1 shoe, and a size 3 diaper.  She still LOVES her jumperoo!  She is a little speed crawler and will stand and take a few steps here and there, but isn't quite confident enough to walk yet.  She will eat just about anything!  The only things we've found that she doesn't care for is jello, black beans, and baked beans.  It would be hard to list her favorite foods because she really does like everything!  I really hope she stays that way!

 Sweet Peyton,

Our lives changed when you joined our family.  I never imagined that I could love another little girl like I love your big sister.  Boy was I wrong.  You were the perfect little addition to our family and we are just smitten with you.  You have such a strong will at one year old and I just know great things are going to come from that!  You know what you want at all times and you always find a way to get it.  We are so thankful for you, peanut.  You are healthy and happy and we love you more than words.  When you joined our family, you brought with you an extra joy and happiness that is unexplainable.  I still can't believe it's been a year.  We love you, Peyton Avery.  :)
